COVID 19 UPDATE
Every 2 years our pupils perform in our School Show held at The Point Theatre. This is a massive production in which our talented dancers spellbound you with their storytelling through dance. 2019 was our amazing production of SNOW WHITE which was a truly enjoyable and spectacular performance. 2021 we are excited to be staging CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. We invite everyone to be part of this amazing opportunity and look forward to sharing this wonderful experience with you all
We are very proud to be members of Imperial Society of Teachers of dancing. Our pupils are invited to enter ISTD examinations from Primary to Advanced level. ISTD Examinations from grade 5 and above provide UCAS points for those going into higher education and exams from Intermediate qualifies you to train as a dance teacher. Exams are held every term except during our school dance show period.
What amazing dance classes we had this summer. It was so lovely seeing everyone dancing so beautifully and enjoying getting back to their dancing. We have missed being together and we really appreciate everyone who came and made it so enjoyable.
We hope you had a truly enjoyable Christmas and we wish you all a Happy and healthy New Year.
As you will no doubt be aware, we are once again under serious covid restrictions. We have been informed that our halls will be closed to us for at least a couple of weeks. In view of this we have made the decision to zoom again but not commencing until Monday 11th January. This will allow us adequate time to set up and forward meeting information to you all as well as minimize the amount of zoom required. All zoom class times will remain the same as our normal timetable so once we return to face to face classes anyone having to isolate can still attend via the screen.
We really do appreciate all your wonderful support during these unprecedented times and sincerely hope as many of you as possible join us on zoom in order to revise the Charlie choreography done so far and hopefully get a few more steps ready to add. In order to enhance your practicing, if you haven't already done so, do join our closed facebook group JMSD CHARLIE SHOW 2021 as videos of the dances set so far during class are placed there and will be each week as they progress.
We very much hope to return to face to face classes for our younger pupils as from Monday 18th January, halls permitting and the older pupils as soon as allowed. We do not yet have any guidance from ISTD or Government so will react as soon as we do.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will still go ahead but probably our performance dates now will need to be later than planned. We will keep you posted as soon as we know.
In the meantime stay safe, and keep dancing in whatever space you have!!
