Welcome to JMSD Dance
We offer Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Street/hip hop and Stretching classes for all ages and abilities. Our special tinies class for under 5's is a dual Tap and Ballet class. Adults only classes are available including Tap for beginners, improvers and advanced, Jazzercise which is a mixture of basic jazz dance and exercises for fitness plus a general level ballet class for all abilities. We promote dancing as a great way to keep fit and have fun whilst learning something new and making friends, as a potential career for those wishing to study more seriously or simply to enjoy the pure joy of dance.
With a variety of classes for every age or ability, everybody can join a class to suit them. Classes take place at Nursling and Rownhams Community Centre, Nursling and Rownhams Village Hall and St John's Church Hall also in Rownhams. For details of our classes and their venues please view our full timetable. Everyone is welcome to attend for free tasters of any dance genre they would like to try prior to committing to a term of lessons.
We also offer LAMDA Acting lessons. (London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Art) These are offered in solo, duo or small group form.
Our accredited ISTD dance and LAMDA examinations count toward UCAS points for higher education.
Every 2 years our pupils perform in our School Show held at The Point Theatre. This is a massive production in which our talented dancers spellbind you with their storytelling through dance. 2022 was our telling of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was a truly enjoyable and spectacular performance and a truly wonderful experience with you all.
We are very proud to be members of Imperial Society of Teachers of dancing. Our pupils are invited to enter ISTD examinations from Primary to Advanced level. ISTD Examinations from grade 5 and above provide UCAS points for those going into higher education and exams from Intermediate qualifies you to train as a dance teacher. Exams are held every term except during our school dance show period.

We are really looking forward to our fun week of dancing, singing and acting creating our version of Singin' in the Rain which we will be performing at the end of the week at the lovely Thornden Hall Theatre.
