2005 School Review Yet again time has flown by since September 2003 when we staged “Aladdin’s Arabian Adventure”, an absolutely fabulous show of which we were very proud. Following Aladdin we were able to make two donations; each for £700 to the Hannah Foster Fund, in memory of the local teenager who was tragically murdered and The Countess Mountbatten Hospice in memory of Mary Egerton, a delightful lady who attended adult tap classes and took part in many of our shows. This year we have elected to support “Dreamflight”, a registered UK charity whose purpose is to take seriously ill children on a "holiday of a lifetime” to the theme parks of central Florida. We have continued to have amazing success with examinations and proudly announce an even higher number of passes (over 350), many at major level gaining top passes. Once again as soon as the show is over we will be embarking on more exams plus a trip for a lucky few up to London to dance at Her Majesty’s Theatre and/or the London Palladium. Grateful thanks to all the pupils who have represented the school in many local dance events, it always involves additional rehearsals and is yet another commitment to undertake. Congratulations also goes to the pupils who have won or been awarded places in competitions this year. Last year Summer School was another great success, we performed our very own version of the Jungle Book Story, everyone who took part really worked hard and had a great time – we also raised £100.00 on show day for Marwell Zoo. This year’s summer school will take place from 8th to 12th August – don’t forget to book your place for another great week. We have a great school web site so please visit it and keep up to date with what’s going on, see photos of previous productions, or leave your own messages on the notice board. |
