We promote dancing as a fun way to keep fit and learn something new. With our variety of genres and classes to suit any age and ability everybody can join a class to suit them. This years Summer School will be held at The Oasis Academy, Romsey Road From Monday 29th July to Friday 2nd August 2013. We will have a fun packed week of dance, Drama and Song and end the week with our performance of Jungle Book. To get involved download a booking form here.

We take safety seriously and all teachers and helpers are qualified and hold current CRB certification.

£5.00 per ticket no discounts and orders must be accompanied with payment. Tickets available on strictly first come first served basis!! Please purchase your tickets from either Jane or Caroline at class. There will be no tickets available on the day so get your orders in fast!!

Everyone is welcome to free tasters of additional dance genres prior to committing to a term of lessons. Alternatively, if you no longer wish to attend a class or classes please let us know in advance and then complete the current term, Lessons not taken will still be charged. ISTD Examinations above grade 5 from 2012 will provide UCAS points for those going into higher education. See the points tariff for ISTD Examinations and find out more information here.

Dance Clubs and Dance Schools

Our school offers classes in Ballet Modern Tap Jazz and Musical Theatre for all ages and ability. Our classes are a great way to learn how to dance, we also aim to develop core balance and strength at the same time. We have been operating in Rownhams for over 30 years and have grown to have over 300 pupils in our school with ages from 3 to much more than 3. Our Jazzercise classes are a great way for adults and teens to keep fit or to get into dancing.

Older children wishing to start dancing are always welcome to come in at a level suitable for their ability which we can establish with trial lessons.

Our Teachers are all ISTD qualified teachers and hold current CRB certificates. Combined we have over 70 years of experience over all genres. With regular training by all our teachers we are able to keep up our high standards and teach only the most recent syllabus.

JMSD T-ShirtJazzercise -    This is an open class which is pay as you go and involves a thorough warm up section, followed by stretching, toning and strengthening exercises on floor mats (bring your own) after which we perform simple dance movements to modern music.  Lots of fun and suitable for all ages and abilities.

Adult Tap
Beginners – Discover this enjoyable and rhythmic form of recreational dance.

Improvers Tap – For those who have already achieved a basic knowledge of tap dancing and wish to develop it further.    
Advanced Tap -  An adult class for experienced tap dancers who wish to keep up their skill and build upon it. Improvers and Advanced Tappers are offered the opportunity of performing in shows and concerts if they so wish.

All adult classes are a great way to get and stay fit in a friendly and sociable environment.
