Here we introduce children to the joy of Tap and Ballet dance.    The class commences with some fun creating different sounds by dancing  in our tap shoes followed by a change to ballet pumps  when we skip and dance to classical music learning about the joy of movement inspired by music.

More structured classes now begin, when the children learn a simple but fun classical ballet syllabus devised by the Imperial  Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).  The children have the option to take the examination when they are ready, or simply continue to develop their co-ordination and joy of dance and move up when they have achieved the required level.

As per the ballet syllabus we now begin a more structured but really enjoyable rhythmic ISTD syllabus.   The children have the option again to take examinations or simply to learn the steps and when they have achieved a good level of competence move up to the next level.

Modern  dance is a fun and energetic style of dance which evolves and adapts to the modern music of the day.  Grade 1 modern is our first taste of modern where the children are introduced to bright and fun moves to popular music.

Introductory Jazz class which is similar to modern but with greater freedom and is a less technical form of dance.  Jazz is great for boys and girls who wish to have a more recreational only approach to their dance.

The continuation and development of the ISTD classical ballet,  tap and modern dance syllabi  increasing in content and technique at each level  providing a comprehensive training  and worthwhile sense of achievement for children and young adults who dance  for recreation and those hoping to pursue a career in dance.

Older children wishing to start dancing are always welcome to come in at a level suitable for their ability which we can establish with trial lessons.

The major classes provide a continuation of classes  building up technique and artistic qualities both for the student wishing to dance professionally or simply dancing for pleasure and fitness.

The ISTD have devised these three levels of examination in the jazz genre for those who would like to develop their jazz  skills to examination standard.

Jazzercise -    This is an open class which is pay as you go and involves a thorough warm up section, followed by stretching, toning and strengthening exercises on floor mats (bring your own) after which we perform simple dance movements to modern music.  Lots of fun and suitable for all ages and abilities.

Adult Tap
Beginners – Discover this enjoyable and rhythmic form of recreational dance.

Improvers Tap – For those who have already achieved a basic knowledge of tap dancing and wish to develop it further.    
Advanced Tap -  An adult class for experienced tap dancers who wish to keep up their skill and build upon it.

Improvers and Advanced Tappers are offered the opportunity of performing in shows and concerts if they so wish.

Adult Ballet – An open level  ballet class for those who wish to try or recapture the skill they had as a child. 

All adult classes are a great way to get and stay fit in a friendly and sociable environment.
